Orinoco goose – Neochen jubata
This species is found in South America, the Andes, Venezuela and Argentina. This bird lives along the rivers, in forest edges and in the tropical savannas.
It measures between 61 and 76 cm, head and neck are pale brown, sides and back are red while the wings are black with green highlights. Both sexes are similar.
It lives in pairs or in small groups. During the breeding season, couples defend their territory aggressively, the nest is placed in a hollow tree. It feeds on the ground, it swims little but frequently perches in trees.
