The dalmatian pelican is a large bird with white feathers , close cousin of white pelican, there are at all seven species of pelicans.
The Dalmatian pelican is the largest pelicans : it can reach 1m70 long and weigh up to 11 kg. Its average size is 3 meters , making it one of the largest birds in the world. It has an oversized gular pouch , which notably distinguishes the white pelican.
It inhabits large ponds, lakes and deltas rich wetland vegetation in Asia. In particular it is found in the Balkans, Ukraine , Bulgaria and Romania.
Its diet consists mainly of fish, it catches foaming streams.
The Dalmatian pelican is now an endangered species due to habitat loss.
