Woolly monkey – Lagothrix
The woolly monckey is a monkey of South American.
Their coat is soft, woolly fleece. They are slow and dignified in their movements. Woolly monkeys have a prehensile tail like ateles and Capuchins. They can use it as a fifth hand.
In the wild, woolly monkeys eat fruits and leaves.
A female can have, every two years, a baby after a gestation of about 7 months. Births in captivity are rare.
Only 60 woolly monkeys live in European zoos.
